Japanese classical guitarist, Nanae Fujiwara, received her Bachelors in Music summa cum laude, from Northeastern Illinois University where she studied with Dr. Brian Torosian. In 2017, she completed her Masters in Classical Guitar Performance from University of Alicante, Spain where she studied with guitar legends Pepe Romero, David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Assad brothers, Fabio Zanon and Ignacio Rodes.
Nanae discovered classical guitar at a late age of 20 when she was a student at Harper College. She never dreamed of becoming a classical guitarist, but her first guitar teacher, Steve Vazquez, inspired her to pursue a career in music. She is an established classical guitarist in the Chicago area currently teaches at David Adler Music and Arts Center, The Music Room, North Shore Music, and UpBeat Music.
Nanae is enthusiastic about sharing her music on social media and connecting with people all around the world. She currently has a following of over 25K people on her Instagram account @nanaeguitar. Her presence on social media has caught many companies’ attentions, including one of the most reputable string companies of the world, Albert Augustine LTD. She feels honored to have been chosen to represent the company and to be on the list amongst artists like Jason Vieaux, Xavier Jara, Jorge Caballero,Brazil Guitar Duo and other big name artists.
