Our Guest Artist Concerts are held on Friday evenings in the beautiful Chapel (the smaller building just north of the main church) of Country Club Christian Church.
Featuring national and international guitarists and musicians, these concerts are held on Friday evenings from 7:30 PM-9:00 PM.

Japanese classical guitarist, Nanae Fujiwara, received her Bachelors in Music summa cum laude, from Northeastern Illinois University where she studied with Dr. Brian Torosian. In 2017, she completed her Masters in Classical Guitar Performance from University of Alicante, Spain where she studied with guitar legends Pepe Romero, David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Assad brothers, Fabio Zanon and Ignacio Rodes.
Celil Refik Kaya

Since his concert debut at the age of 6, Celil Refik Kaya has received accolades for his myriad accomplishments at an early age, becoming the youngest first-prize winner of the 2012 JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Concerto Competition with the Buffalo Philharmonic. Prizewinner of international guitar competitions include Sofia (Bulgaria), Naxos (Greece), Vienna and Istanbul; and throughout the United States, award-winner at the 2012 Guitar Foundation of America (GFA), Indiana International Guitar Competition, Boston Guitar Competition, Texas International Guitar Competition, Schadt String Competition and Philadelphia Guitar Competition. In 2017, Mr. Kaya was named “Rising Young Musician of the Year” by the Donizetti Classical Music Awards in Istanbul.

Brian Torosian is an active soloist and chamber musician best known for his work relating to 19th-century guitarist and composer J. K. Mertz. In addition to standard six-string guitar, he plays baroque guitar, Terz guitar, and 10-string guitar replicas, the latter two including those made for him by R. E. Bruné after 19th-century Viennese instruments.

Daniel is the current President of the Kansas City Guitar Society. This concert is dedicated to the KCGS and all proceeds will go to support the organization.
Daniel learned to play the guitar at an early age. He received his formal training with a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from Wheaton College Conservatory where he studied with Muriel Anderson and a Master of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Missouri in Kansas City where he studied with Douglas Niedt.
