Subito Duo is a collaboration between local artists Ryan Head and AleiaGonzález. As individual artists, they have each contributed to the Kansas Citry Guitar Society by performing in its Casual Concert Series 2018-2019. We are pleased to now present them performing together: Subito Duo
Ryan Head is a guitarist and teacher based in Kansas City. Mr. Head is in high demand as a performer and teacher and is equally successful in both roles. His sensitive and musical interpretations have earned Ryan praise both regionally and internationally.
As a student Ryan studied with Sharon Isben at the Aspen Music festival and School and Douglas Niedt at the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance
Aleia González, classical guitarist, was born in Asuncion, Paraguay, where she began her guitar studies at the age of 8. Aleia finished her conservatory studies in 2012 and kept performing in the Asuncion area as a soloist and chamber musician. In 2016, she was selected to be part of “Pu Rory” guitar ensemble under the direction and coaching of Paraguayan classical guitarist Berta Rojas. At the same time, she was finishing her studies in Accounting, and earned a Bachelor’s degree by the end of the year.
In 2018, Aleia performed in the Kansas area both as a soloist and collaborating with tenor Neal Long. She has also performed for the Casual Concert series of the Kansas City Guitar Society. Starting in the spring of 2019, Aleia has been performing with guitarist Ryan Head, with whom she started a guitar duo called Subito Duo. In May 2019, Aleia participated as a fellow performer at the Cortona Sessions for New Music, a contemporary music festival held in Cortona, Italy. Aleia is a second-year Master of Music in classical guitar performance student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, under the coaching of Dr. Braulio Bosi.
